Technologies Marking & Profiling
WHAT IS MARKING & PROFILING?
Marking and profiling is a combination metal forming process where the part is shaped. Then, in the second phase, the part is marked or profiled with a roller. Our machine is ideal for parts that are serrated or toothed, e.g. gears, pulleys or parts that are produced with other types of marks.
Why choose marking & profiling?
NO MATERIAL LOSS
Grooves are formed through controlled shaping and material redistribution, without removing material
HIGH SHAPE PRECISION
Multiple roller passes reproduce the final groove geometry with precision, quality and repeatability
MAXIMUM MATERIAL ECONOMY
The process accumulates material to achieve the required thickness and width before final shaping, promoting optimal material efficiency

IS MARKING & PROFILING RIGHT FOR YOUR PART?
For you if
– You manufacture V-belt transmission pulleys
– Your part requires trapezoidal or poly-V grooves
– You want groove formation without material removal
– You work with cylindrical preforms obtained through forming processes depending on the material)
Not the best if
– The part does not require rotary grooving
– The geometry cannot be formed through progressive roller passes
Quick design check
– Define the groove type: trapezoidal or poly-V
– Confirm pulley diameter (50 mm to 250 mm nominal range)
– Specify starting thickness (up to 8 mm disc thickness)
– Confirm material (e.g. SAE J403 UNS G10080 / G10100 low carbon steel or compatible material)
Send us to confirm
– 2D drawing or 3D model
– Material specification
– Target groove profile and tolerances
– Batch size and annual forecast
