Technologies Metal spinning
WHAT IS METAL SPINNING?
Spinning is a rotary metal forming process that transforms discs, tubes, or simple preforms into parts of revolution, hollow or symmetrical, by applying controlled pressure over a mandrel. Thanks to precise process control, it delivers consistent geometries with a high-quality surface finish.
Why choose spinning?
ACCURACY AND SURFACE FINISH
Consistent, repeatable parts with excellent surface quality through tightly controlled forming
MATERIAL EFFICIENCY
Minimises waste by forming without machining or removing material and often reduces process steps compared with subtractive alternatives
DESIGN FLEXIBILITY
Quick adaptation of geometries and tooling for prototypes and short-to-medium runs, tailored to customer requirements

Quick fit check
IS SPINNING RIGHT FOR YOU?
For you if
- - Your part is a hollow part of revolution
- - You start from a disc, tube, or simple preform
- - You value surface finish and repeatability
- - Ideal for prototypes and short-to-medium runs with variants, while still suitable for longer runs
Not the best if
- - The geometry is asymmetric or has undercuts
- - The material/thickness has low formability for the needed deformation
Quick design check
- - Prefer smooth transitions and avoid sharp steps
- - Define which dimensions are critical vs. non-critical
- - Consider trimming/finishing as part of the process
- - Share any surface finish requirements early
Send us to confirm
- - 2D drawing or 3D model
- - Material and initial thickness
- - Target dimensions and relevant tolerances
- - Batch size and annual forecast
